Quality Improvement and KT

The SJRH Emergency Department Knowledge Transfer – Continuous Quality Improvement (KT-CQI) committee, chaired by the program lead, is a multidisciplinary team providing patient-centred, ground-up oversight for departmental guideline development, implementation, and evaluation. The committee liases bidirectionally with other programs including Morbidity and Mortality Rounds, QUEST, Patient care & infrastructure, Simulation, and Continuous Professional Development.

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) represents an ongoing effort to improve patient care in a step by step fashion. The four key elements of CQI are: problem solving, interpersonal skills, teamwork and a quality improvement process.

Regular multidisciplinary KT-CQI meetings are held within the department. Please see the department calendar for the next date and contact the program lead if you are interested in attending.

This page contains quick links to our most up-to-date department guidelines and downloadable full guidelines and order-sets. Audit results are available in the Staff Area of the website
